DMCA Policy
How to report copyright infringement on SkipTheGames.
SkipTheGames respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users and advertisers to do the same. This policy explains how to notify us of material on skipthegames.us.com (the "Site") that you believe infringes a copyright you own, in accordance with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act ("DMCA"), 17 U.S.C. § 512.
Filing a Takedown Notice
If you are a copyright owner (or authorized to act on behalf of one) and you believe that material accessible on the Site infringes your copyright, you may submit a written notice (a "DMCA Notice") containing the information set out below.
Send the notice by email to:
- Email: [email protected]
- Subject line: DMCA Takedown Notice
Required Information
To be effective, your DMCA Notice must include all of the following:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (or a representative list, if multiple works are at issue).
- Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, with enough detail to allow us to locate it — in particular, the full URL(s) on the Site where the material appears.
- Your contact information, including full legal name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
Notices missing any of the above may be considered defective and may not be acted upon.
Our Response
Upon receipt of a properly formed DMCA Notice, we will:
- Acknowledge receipt of the notice (typically within 24–48 hours).
- Promptly remove or disable access to the material identified as infringing.
- Notify the advertiser who posted the material that it has been removed in response to a DMCA notice.
- For repeat infringers, terminate the advertiser's ability to post future listings.
Counter-Notification
If material you posted has been removed and you believe the removal was a mistake or that you have the right to use the material, you may submit a written counter-notification ("Counter-Notice") to [email protected]. Your Counter-Notice must include all of the following:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed and the location at which it appeared before removal (URL).
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in the judicial district in which you are located (or, if outside the U.S., any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who submitted the original DMCA Notice or their agent.
Upon receipt of a valid Counter-Notice, we will forward a copy to the original complainant and may restore the material in 10–14 business days unless the complainant notifies us that they have filed a court action seeking to restrain you from engaging in the infringing activity.
Repeat Infringer Policy
It is our policy, in appropriate circumstances and at our discretion, to disable access to and/or terminate the privileges of advertisers who repeatedly infringe the copyright rights of others.
False Claims
Please be aware that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), any person who knowingly materially misrepresents that material is infringing, or that material was removed by mistake or misidentification, may be liable for damages, including costs and attorneys' fees. If you are not certain whether material on the Site infringes your rights, you should consult an attorney before submitting a notice.
